Dr. Weiss – Cardiac Electrophysiologist & Sports Cardiology Specialist
Dr. Weiss is a skilled and compassionate cardiologist specializing in cardiac electrophysiology and sports cardiology. He brings advanced training and innovative expertise to Cardiology Physicians, PA, delivering personalized care across a full range of cardiac rhythm disorders and general cardiovascular conditions.
Dr. Weiss earned his medical degree from Emory University before completing his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he was honored to serve as Chief Medical Resident. He then pursued fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he received the Matthew V. Decaro M.D. Award for excellence in critical care cardiology. He completed a subspecialty fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Michigan, one of the nation’s top programs.
His clinical practice includes ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, supraventricular tachycardia, and device implantation, including defibrillators, pacemakers, biventricular devices, leadless pacemakers, and left atrial appendage occlusion devices. Notably, Dr. Weiss was the third physician in the world to implant a MICRA leadless pacemaker into the left ventricle for a patient with a surgically repaired transposition of the great arteries—an innovative procedure demonstrating his leadership in cutting-edge cardiac care.
In addition to his work in electrophysiology, Dr. Weiss has extensive experience in sports cardiology. During his training, he served as a Sports Cardiology Fellow for the SimonsHeart Foundation in Philadelphia, conducting cardiovascular screenings for NFL and NCAA football players. His published work includes manuscripts and abstracts on supraventricular tachycardia, athlete ECG and echocardiogram interpretation, and the application of mobile ECG technologies.
Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Dr. Weiss is a proud Florida Gators fan. He and his wife were married in 2013 and have two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, ice hockey, and running—staying just as active outside the clinic as many of the athletes he cares for.
