Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to my cardiology appointment?
Please bring your photo ID, insurance card, a list of current medications (including dosages), any relevant medical records, and referral paperwork if required. It’s also helpful to bring a list of questions or symptoms you’re experiencing.
Will I receive any tests during my visit?
Depending on your symptoms and history, your cardiologist may order or perform tests such as an EKG, echocardiogram, stress test, or blood work. Some tests may be scheduled for a future date.
How long will my appointment take?
A typical new patient visit lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are generally shorter, around 20 to 30 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
What are common symptoms that require a cardiology evaluation?

You should consult a cardiologist if you’re experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, dizziness, fatigue, or swelling in the legs. Family history of heart disease is also a key reason for preventive evaluation.

Do I need a referral to see a cardiologist?

It depends on your insurance plan. Some plans require a referral from your primary care provider. Please check with your insurance company or our office staff before scheduling.

What lifestyle changes might be recommended?
Your cardiologist may recommend changes such as a heart-healthy diet, regular exercise, stress management techniques, quitting smoking, and maintaining a healthy weight. Specific advice will be tailored to your condition and goals.
